St John School of English specialises in General English courses from beginner to advanced levels leading to Trinity College London exams.
Our highly qualified teachers have an average of 15 years’ experience and will tailor each course to the precise requirements of the student. We have worked with a variety students, from absolute novices to those with some experience and just want a refresher course.
How We Teach
The way that languages are now being taught is completely different to how it was a few years ago.
It used to be that learning a language would be dull and monotonous, with an emphasis on simply memorising words and phrase, but now it is more fun and interactive.
The Communicative Approach means that whatever language you are learning almost the whole lesson will be in that language, meaning that on one of our London based English Courses you will be completely immersed in the language.
You will see yourself making real progress, even in the first lesson, and will soon communicate in English with confidence, in a range of social and business environments.
You can enrol at any time and choose the number of weeks suitable for your needs. Most of our students initially choose a 12 – 15 week programme.
Each class runs twice a week for 3hrs each day, we have classes in the morning and evening.
Our Classes are small with an average attendance of 12 students
Levels & Exams
We take students from a low level (Beginner/Entry 1) through to Intermediate (Entry 2 and 3) through to Advanced (Levels 1 and 2).
Many of our students take exams with Trinity College London in speaking and listening and sometimes reading and writing modes. Exams are optional and we advise students on what exam (if any!) and what level to take. Student satisfaction is very important to us so if students want to take an exam we try to ensure that they take the best one available.
